Amal is a sustainable, worker-owned business, providing top-quality cleaning services to organizations and institutions. Founded as an alternative to exploitative contractor companies, we empower women to achieve social and economic mobility. Partnering with us advances socially responsible business practices.
Amal is a unique sustainable business co-owned by the
cleaning workers themselves.
Our two main goals: creating fair employment opportunities in the exploitative cleaning sector, and advancing occupational and social mobility for Arab women.
Currently, Amal operates three branches – in Jisr al-Zarqa, Jerusalem, and the Negev – delivering professional, high-quality cleaning services.
Our clients receive personalized, tailored cleaning services, with full assurance that all employees work under fair and legal conditions. We ensure continuous professional training, quality control, and backup support whenever needed.
Choosing Amal means selecting excellence in service while supporting an important social enterprise driving meaningful change in Israeli society.
At the educational center, cooperative members undergo a comprehensive training program to manage the company and advance in the workforce. This training includes Hebrew courses, computer skills, soft skills development, gender studies, personal finance management, and social rights education.
Unlike traditional methods, this vocational and personal training is seamlessly integrated into the work routine, becoming an integral part of the women’s lives.
A business co-owned and co-managed by its workers, combining democratic decision-making processes with a supportive women's community, built on solidarity.
A self-sustaining business delivering premium cleaning services while advancing social and corporate responsibility, offering personalized attention and excellence to each client.
A unique education approach centered around on-the-job learning, fostering trust and driving meaningful, lasting change in women's lives. The program includes Hebrew, skill-building workshops and courses in gender awareness and women's leadership.
The cooperative is unlike any workplace I've experienced. It upholds social rights and integrity in its practices, while offering invaluable support for both my personal and professional growth. Joining Amal has had a great impact in my life, particularly in how I interact with others. My communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability have all improved. Shame, which was once a major obstacle for me, has now disappeared.
Today I regret dropping out of school, but thanks to the cooperative I'm now discovering the world in new ways. I'm learning Hebrew, computer skills, and finding strength that grows with each day at the cooperative. I’m passionate about seeing our workers advance - ensuring they're never exploited, receive what they deserve, and don’t give up on their dreams.
Yusur has recently completed a payroll accounting course through the cooperative.
The cooperative is the first workplace where I truly feel like I belong, a place I take pride in. Individually, we women might feel alone, but together we are strong. This is what the cooperative means to me.
I've always been responsible, but through the cooperative I've learned to be more effective in handling responsibilities and managing workplace challenges. Unlike my previous workplaces, the cooperative empowers and develops its workers. We genuinely feel valued.
The cooperative is much more than just a cleaning company - it's an organization that provides support to workers in every aspect. I've been a member of the cooperative for two years and am very happy. Any member who asks for help receives it, without conditions. It's not just help with small matters, but real and meaningful support.
